Statement from Stephen Mosley on MPs Expenses

The Parliament website states

Ms Christine Russell MP -  City of Chester
Ms Russell was overpaid by a total of £3,266.68 for rent (£1,083.34 in 2004-05; £1,083.34 in 2005-06; and £1,100 in 2007-08), representing 13 months' rent in each of these years.
She was also overpaid by £860.85 for April-May 2005, through not reducing payments during the dissolution period.

Statement from Conservative Candidate Stephen Mosley

It’s no wonder that our countries finances are in such an atrocious mess when it appears we have MPs who can’t even remember how many months there are in a year.

I am delighted that some of the worst expenses fiddlers are being prosecuted, but they are just the tip of the iceberg. We desperately need a General Election, not only to rid parliament of MPs who have let our country down, but also to help restore trust in politics, to reform Parliament and to start putting Britain back on track.
