The past 12 months since the last Annual Parish Meeting seem to have flown past and lots has happened in Upton since May 2017. I’m pleased and privileged to have been part of the Parish Council and in my borough Councillor role working with members to help Upton grow and prosper.
Councillors Razia Daniels and Neil Sullivan have been re-selected as the Conservative candidates for Handbridge Park. The ward is up for election, alongside all other Borough Council seat in West Cheshire, in May 2019.
Today is the final day of "Free After 3" parking in Chester.
After it was introduced by the Conservatives a decade ago, the hugely popular scheme has provided free parking after 3pm in many of the city's car parks.
Over the past few weeks signs of Spring have been popping up around Upton. It’s good to see early blossom, buds and bulbs flowering in the verges and gardens.
I am presenting this motion for debate to Council on Thursday. My hope is that it will receive unanimous approval and that Chester West and Chester will become an exemplar local authority leading on the elimination of plastic.
Upton is looking splendid in autumn colours and the berries and nuts are providing food for wildlife to help see the birds and small mammals through winter.
